Hi all! Wow, it's been forever. Merry Christmas, Happy Haunakah, Joyful Kwanza to y'all!

It's in the beginning stages (and needs LOTS of work!! Give me, 'til, oh, May?), but I'm moving over to a new blog space complements of a dear, dear friend who gifted me with my domain and host server this Christmas. Find me now at: http://www.dixiecheese.com. :-)

And when I say "beginning stages," I mean it. Still trying to find some sort of purple platform like this one. Any help would be appreciated. :-)

You can also find my photos and mini-comments (kinda like bloggin) at: http://flickr.com/photos/dixiecheese/

Happy holidays all!

Oh my! inspectorjury is da bomb. That's all I have to say here.

People told me this weekend that I resemble Christina Ricci. I'm not sure if that's a compliment or not.

Who have people said you resembled?

Last week, some old friends and I got together for the Friends finale. Most of you know these people, as they're mostly friends of yours, too.

See, we decided to get together because we never would have been able to get together if it hadn't been for a little show called Friends that we had in common so many years ago when we all found a listserv called the Friends Zone. At the time, I lived in Wisconsin, Aron lived in Miami, and Inna was in Athens, Ga. Over time, we all migrated here with the comfort that we were not alone; that we already knew some Friends. Though over the years we always joked that all of us could never be in the same place at the same time (because it never happened before), we decided to tempt fate and plan it anyway.

And everyone made it. There was Phil and Anne and Jacki and Aron and Inna. Inna also brought her husband and son. She was big with her next child, a girl they plan to name Anna when she makes her appearance in September. Jacki didn't bring her husband (who had a prior engagement), but she did bring old photo albums which starred the lot of you.

There in shining glory were pictures from years ago, from every early Ganza. There was Tray and Lisa and Liz, Karen, Dave L (really!) and Wes. Shan and Shae and Mark and Annie (and her Pants(tm)!) and Erica and Eric. And we laughed and joked and exclaimed, "oh, remember that?!" as we ate way too much food and talked over most of the show.

And though the cast says they never want to do a reunion show, I think it'd be very lovely if, when they do (because we know they will), we have a reunion Ganza of our own. Of couse, by then, most of us will be married, or divorced, or perhaps still single. We'll have children or (gasp!) grandchildren, live miles from where we do now, or still live exactly in the same place...but, really, that's life...and exactly how it should be. :)

Good Lord, where to begin? It's been a trying few months, but then, hasn't it been for everyone, really? That's life...and life is good.

It's been very amusing finally having home access again and reading up on all y'all's entries and stuff. The good, the better, the happy. I forgot how clever y'all are.

I just need to say thank you to the most wonderful people who have been here for me -- you know who you are. Beit the emails not letting me fade away, the wonderful inspirational letter from the darling woman who has far more going in her life to worry about me (it's tacked up right above my desk at work, I'll have you know), the daisies, the phone calls, the Thursday night dinner nights, everything. Random acts of kindness? I had no idea how much they really meant.

I've missed a lot. Moves and relationships, homes and babies, new jobs and new adventures...and I'm sorry to have missed them. But, gosh, it's good to see y'all again.
